WORKSHOP ON CLIMATE CHANGE AND SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT FOR THE LOCAL ARTISAN COMMUNITY (MICROENTREPRENEURS)

Together with the Kaarvan Crafts Foundation, we at the Centre for Climate and Environmental Research (CCER) Team at the Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) are unlocking climate action research on the ground through a series of interactive workshops that triangulate awareness, behavioral change and participatory-action research as a part of community services.

The CCER team visited Multan and had meaningful discussions with artisan entrepreneurs on the importance of being conscious consumers in a world filled with various products. The focus was on encouraging mindfulness in how we utilize and consume our natural resources. The complex issue of climate change was simplified and made relatable by connecting it to our daily activities. For instance, the conversation delved into practical aspects like making informed choices when going to the market—avoiding unnecessary consumption traps and, instead, emphasizing the effective use of cloth and raw materials in our everyday lives.
